About me: I see a song of past romance
I see the sacrifice of man
I see portrayals of betrayal
And a brother's final stand
I see you on the brink of death
I see you draw your final breath
I see a man who gets to make it home alive
But it's no longer you
Seemingly a captain of a fleet of eleven vessels, each filled to the brim with Ithacan warriors. After the war was won in a single night due to the cunning and trickery of Odysseus, they all were anxious and eager to return home to families left behind, none more eager than Odysseus himself- the king of their little three island kingdom. He had annoyed the others constantly with his mutterings of Queen Penelope and his son, Telemachus. The first island they visited, however, the Valley of the Lotus, caused them to be led astray when an act of open armed kindness led to sacrifice and betrayal... seven men were lost in just seconds, and that was only the start of their misfortune. Their retaliation against their lone aggressor- with the added hubris of Odysseus- led to Poseidon himself meeting them on the ocean. And then in a wave of his hand, eleven vessels became one. The flagship barely survived, and 43 men were left.
