Contrary to what the tabloids wanted people to believe about Amy, beneath that beehive that works as her security blanket, is a tough woman. A hard shell, with soft insides. Outside of her persona, her real self craves to love and be loved. Her fame was unexpected. Fame is not something that you can just escape from. Unsure how to handle superstardom, she does her best to adjust. She is not materialistic or uptight, easy to please. Her crude sense of humor holds little boundaries. No matter the mood, she finds the time to crack a joke or two to lighten everyone else.

Amy can be brutally honest with little thought of the feelings of others but is a very loyal friend who would give you the jacket off her back. Despite everything she had been through, she held on tight to her humanity the best she could, not allowing herself to be seduced by her riches. Often, her money was used for charity work. Any awards she has won, she had given to her mother.

"These are for you, Mum."

Since she divorced Blake Fielder-Civil, Amy has been clean from heroin and crack for the last three years. Pot and alcohol are how she copes with her dwindling mental state. Substance abuse led to her breasts shrinking greatly, so she acquired implants in 2009 to improve her body image.

Amy did dream of fame since she was very young, but what she aspires to more than anything in the world is to mother children. Several of them.

Winehouse's biggest weakness is love. When a man makes her heart flutter, he becomes a part of it. She has tattoos for two of her previous lovers. Amy is very affectionate and clingy. Unfortunately in the past, her romances have damaged her friendships. Winehouse would throw herself under the bus for someone she loved. Fight tooth and nail for them. There are few lengths Amy wouldn't go. Including die for them.

An alcoholic and a chain-smoker since she was twelve, Amy was taught from a young age that chemicals are how you mend yourself. Not to talk it out with someone. She never believed in therapy, only substances, prescribed or not. Smoking marijuana and listening to The Beatles helped keep her sane in her mid-teens. Longing for her absent father since the age of nine and recovering from a traumatic event, a bit too much happened early in her life that resulted in her becoming a turbulent woman. Her mother was too soft on her, on top of that, Janis Winehouse was a sufferer of multiple sclerosis and would not be diagnosed until 2003.

Amy has been a sufferer of low self-esteem and eating disorders since she was a teenager. She indulged in self-harm by slashing her arms (sometimes her chest), a bad habit that worsened when fame entered her life and many judged her from head to toe. A few times she almost bled out. Amy had been frequently called ugly she started to believe and accept it for a long time. Her bulimia became anorexia, so Amy dropped a lot of weight and felt a bit satisfied with her body.
