Still dressed in that antique kimono, Jubilee was sitting on a chair with her chin down. She hated being here. This room had absolutely no windows. She couldn't see outside which depressed her more. She barely acknowledged the older woman Akiko who entered the room with a tea tray. “Hanabi-Chan, please come drink some tea. You'll feel better.” The woman meant well in trying to make her feel better, but it backfired.

Jubilee shot a glance at the woman that was absolutely venomous. “NO! I am not YOUR Hanabi-Chan! Only Taka-kun, the love of my life, can call me that!” Jubilee's temper was engaged. If the nullifer had been off her neck, the woman would have been seriously injured by her fireworks.

Akiko bowed apologetically after she sat the tray down on a table nearby. “Please forgive me. I meant no disrespect お姫様 [Princess].” She bowed low in her apology to show her humility. Her great grandmother had served Lady Asami and now she was fulfilling a role that no one had ever imagined.

Normally Jubilee wouldn't snap like that at anyone. Being taken from her favorite mall, not to mention being kept from her moms and her boyfriend had nearly broken her. She hoped beyond all hope that somehow Logan also knew she was missing too. Jubilee was feeling terrible about snapping at the woman who had been kind to her and made sure she ate. Riku, however, if Jubilee had her powers, she'd have roasted him on the spot. She took a cup of tea and sipped it. “You're Forgiven.” She whispered softly.

She lifted the cup to her lips again when she heard something in her mind. Was that Dani? /Jubilee... momma's here./ Her eyes widened. It was her Mom! The sound of the blood curdling war cry cinched it. Her heart leapt for joy knowing the trust she placed in her Mom Dani had not wavered.

He kicked down the door to Jubilee's bedroom with the greatest of ease. His speed was beyond anything a human eye could detect. Jubilee screamed at the monstrous sight of him. He had not wanted any of this to transpire in the way it was. He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to him. “Your mutt and your mother are here. Logan-Sama will be dead soon enough at the hands of The Monster Gorgon.”

Jubilee had not seen this side of Riku before. When she saw his fangs from his monstrous face, everything that had transpired between them going back to when her biological parents were alive began to make sense. Riku was a vampire with an unhealthy obsession: her. She struggled against him trying to break free of his grasp. “Let me go! Let me go!” She screamed as loud as she could. If this was a rescue operation, she needed her saviors to hear her.

Terror was etched across the fine features of the woman he'd loved for these years. Her fear and apprehension did reach through to the last vestige of humanity he had left. “Just trust me, Asami.” He breathed. “愛する人よ、私はあなたをそれらすべてから救います。” [My Love, I will save you from them all.]

Jubilee was confused and frightened. Why did he just call her Asami? He had pulled her out of that bedroom after he zipped in there as fast as Quicksilver. She had no idea he could do that. Now his face looked like a monster complete with fangs. Jubilee knew that Dani was there. She screamed for all she was worth one simple word. “MOOOOOMMMM!”

Riku's features darkened as he continued to pull her out of the cabin. She was struggling for all she was worth strikimg him in his male anatomy with the pointed end of her right elbow. He cried out in pain. “You little B!TCH!” He growled at Jubilee. “Say goodbye, Jubilation!” He grabbed her by the chin. With all the speed and confidence the vampire possessed, he spun her chin to the left. A sickening snap could be heard by anyone with sensitive hearing in the area. Her petite form dropped lifeless to the ground. There was no heartbeat, no respiration, no anything. She was gone.

Jubilee felt like she was floating. She had no idea where she was or what happened. She remembered a lot of pain for a brief moment but then she was here. “小麻雀 [Little Sparrow] open your eyes.” The voice was soft and very feminine.

Jubilee's eyelashes fluttered before opening up again. “母親? [Mother?]” Jubilee knew that voice anywhere. It was something she'd not heard in forever. “Am I dead ?” A tear rolled down her cheek. Riku had killed her. He won.

“Only temporarily.” Mrs. Lee reached out to touch her daughter's cheek. “You're going to leave us again but know that 父親 [Father] and I are proud of you and we love you. Never stop fighting. Fly high 小麻雀 [Little Sparrow]. Reach the sky.”

Jubilee felt herself being pulled back to the land of the living almost like a rag doll. Something had happened to her. She couldn't remember what at first as she was being pulled back. But just as she was about to cross the line again to the world of the living, she saw what looked like her but wearing a bloody kimono. Her head was bowed and tears rolling down her face.

~*~

She started to stir feeling like someone was holding her. “I…I'm so hungry…” She spoke softly as her new vampire fangs filled her mouth. If she didn't feed from someone, she would actually die for good this time.
