Melniboné (Mel-NEE-bo-nay), also known as The Dragon Isle or The Bright Empire is an island nation ruled by a 10 000 year old dynasty of Emperors. Melniboné is populated by the Melnibonéans, elfin non-humans who worship Chaos. Melniboné’s domination of the world is a result of their cunning, cruelty, potent sorcery and their alliance with the Phoorn – dragons. Elric is the last Emperor to sit on the Ruby Throne of Imrryr.
Present Day
Considered strange by his own people, Elric wondered if there were better ways to exist than the cruel traditions of his people. Due to his physical weaknesses, he spent the best part of his youth reading and learning all he could about the wider world and the ways of sorcery. His father, Sadric, blamed Elric for his mother’s death and their relationship was not a close one. When Sadric died, Elric took the Ruby Throne, but was still unable to relate to his people, aside from his cousin Cymoril, whom he loved dearly.
Yyrkoon, Cymoril’s brother, despised Elric and wanted to claim the Ruby Throne for himself. In a battle of wits, physical prowess and sorcery, Elric managed to defeat his cousin and rescue his love from her brother. To the surprise of all, he showed Yyrkoon mercy and allowed him to live. Elric placed Yyrkoon on the Ruby Throne for a year, stating that he was going to learn all he could of the Young Kingdoms before taking his place as Emperor.

Personality
Elric, unlike most of his people, possesses a conscience. He is interested in justice and law, realises that the decadence of his people is a threat to the greater world and is an idealist, wanting to bring change to them.
This difference means he cannot find acceptance with his own people, and he is seen as an outsider no matter where he goes.
Prone to bouts of melancholy, grief and regret, he can be depressive and moody. He is quite polite to those he meets, though his subtle sarcasm usually shines through too.
Strengths
As the 428th Emperor of Melniboné, Elric has considerable resources at his disposal.
He is able to call upon the Elements for assistance in times of need via sorcery
As a noble, he is well versed in duelling, fighting and other martial pursuits.
Like those who came before him, Elric is aligned to a chaos patron – Arioch, who he is able to call upon when required. He does not always answer, and is fickle like most Lords of Chaos.
Stormbringer is a legendary vampiric sword that sustains Elric’s strength.
Weaknesses
From birth, Elric has had a blood deficiency. He must be maintained by various herbs and medicines otherwise he will go weak and die. Stormbringer offsets this weakness but at a terrible cost.
Depressive. Elric’s moods swing from intense melancholy to reckless euphoria.
Albinism. Elric’s skin and hair is white, his eyes are red. He does not do too well in the sun and his eyes are sensitive.
Chaos Patron Arioch. Arioch is fickle and often decides ignoring Elric is better than actually helping out. He will give Elric tasks to do from time to time, which he often ignores in return.
Stormbringer. As much as Elric needs Stormbringer to sustain his strength, he must wield the blade and steal the souls of those he kills to do so. He hates this. Sometimes, Stormbringer takes over and Elric has no choice about who he kills. Friends and foes are the same to the demonic blade.
Moonglum>
Moonglum of Elwher: A short, red-haired human with a cheerfully ugly face, adventuring companion to Elric. He and Elric share many dangers and rewards together. The most steadfast and loyal companion of all the Young Kingdom humans Elric encounters.
Elric considers Moonglum his best friend, and despite many misgivings and uncertainties, they adventure together. He often wonders why Moonglum sticks around when the risks are so high, but always appreciates his presence. Elric is very aware that he would be completely lost, and likely dead, without Moonglum.
Yyrkoon
Elric’s Cousin Yyrkoon is as evil and vile as they come. Determined to usurp Elric from his position as Emperor of the Melnibonéan Empire, he will stop at nothing to do so. Yyrkoon is a powerful sorcerer, competent swordsman and ruthless foe.
Cymoril
Elric’s first, and truest, love. Yyrkoon’s sister, and his first cousin, she was the only one who accepted Elric’s differences despite not understanding them. She waited for him while he explored the Young Kingdom and gave him the hope he needed to continue onwards. She was able to control minor elementals, and made sure their trysts were accompanied by fair weather.

I'll try to reply quicker this time - work got me super busy at the moment though. Glad to get it done though and that you're still around! Our story is one of my all time favourites.
