Katerina (Katherine) Eleanor Wetherly was born in the small town of Pine Ridge, South Dakota with her 2 brothers, Byron & Jared. When she and Byron were very young, their father left the family and Jared was forced to go with him. Neither of them knew why nor did they understand what was happening, but it felt as if they never really knew their Dad or their brother and they probably didn’t remember if they ever had any of them in their family. It was just Byron, Katherine, their mother and their grandmother Ophelia. When she was 5 years old, Katherine learned that her grandmother was a psychic and before she knew it, she was one too and it wasn’t long before she started to have visions.

Throughout her teenage years, Katherine was convinced that someone was watching her, stalking her until she realized they had a connection. A connection so strong and powerful she couldn’t walk away from it, no matter how hard she tried. She wanted to give up her powers, hoping they would disappear, but they wouldn’t because they were a part of her. She never went to school for fear that students and teachers would think of her as a freak, a psycho or whatever name they would call her to make her feel helpless and not be able to stand up to herself and her family. Knowing she can never trust anyone, Katherine spent her childhood and teenage years homeschooling, learning to read, write and speak foreign languages such as Greek and Bulgarian. The only 2 people she trusted the most were her brother Byron and her grandmother Ophelia. The more visions she had in the past, the more powerful the connection grew between her and her stalker. One night, however, was where the stalking ended in the most brutal, horrifying moment anyone can ever imagine.

Katherine decided to leave Pine Ridge so she could learn more about her gift and why she became what she is today. Half a year went by without a word from her until the night she called Byron and told him to meet her at an old church in town. She had something important to tell him, about what and who her stalker is but when Byron got there, she never showed up. Katherine was on her way to meet her brother when she was suddenly kidnapped by her stalker and took her to the cemetery. Once they were there, he immediately stabbed her many times with an ancient dagger, strangled her with her scarf and snatched off her green beaded necklace Byron gave her as a birthday gift a few years earlier. He also bit her neck and drained all of her blood before leaving her alone to die in an open grave.

Katherine’s body lay cold in the mud, knowing how little of life she had left from the horrific torture of her stalker and as she moaned in pain, she heard the voice of a girl, thinking she was an animal. With all the strength she possessed, she got up and started calling for help. The girl was so afraid she didn’t know what to do. She was about to leave Katherine so she could get help when she grabbed her hand and squeezed it so tight, pain started to go through the girl’s hand. She yelped in pain, begging her to stop but Katherine refused. Telepathically, she gave her a warning the girl will never forget. “If you want to live,” she said, “you mustn’t tell anyone of what you’ve seen here tonight.” After the girl accepted her promise, Katherine released her and died peacefully, no longer suffering the pain and torture from the psychopathic monster that ended her life way too soon.

In August 2008, almost 3 years after the murder, Katherine was resurrected and even though she’s alive again, she was glad she got to live her life the way she wanted. Peaceful, fun, happy and full of memories to share with her family and friends. Speaking of family, Katherine and Byron reunited and their bond as brother and sister was reborn, stronger than ever. She also started a friendship with the girl she passed on her powers to on the night of her murder. A girl named Lucy Dennison and she was in a romantic relationship with her brother, happily in love and looking forward to the future they would have together. Katherine was happy for the two lovebirds and before she knew it, her life was getting back on track. Or so she thought.

Not long after her resurrection, word went around from Byron and Lucy that her killer is still out there, stalking and murdering whoever would get in his way and it was then Katherine realized her friends and family are in grave danger. Around Fall 2008, she told her brother they have another sibling in the Wetherly family. Their older brother Jared. Neither of them saw him until one day in 2010 when he suddenly appeared, wanting the same thing they have been longing for since they were kids. To connect with one another and to be a family they deserved to be.

During the past couple years, Katherine noticed some major changes going on in her family. The romance between Byron and Lucy ended after finding out Lucy cheated on him and as a result of it, Byron called off the wedding and broke up with her. He later began a romantic relationship with Angie, a half vampire, half Moon Guardian Angel they’ve been friends with for a while. They were together for about 6 months until Byron visited Katherine one day, asking for advice about whether or not he should break up with Angie and go back to Lucy. When she asked him who he loved more, he chose the blonde and even though she had done bad things in the past, he blamed himself for not being there for her when she needed him and regretted breaking up with her. He never allowed her to explain why she broke his heart.

Within a few days, Byron and Angie broke up and he and Lucy reunited, renewing their love. After that, Angie’s children Monica and Dominic Angel-Wetherly were born and Katherine became their aunt, Lucy their godmother, Jared their uncle and Byron their father. As they quickly grew up to their adulthood, Monica was concerned about why their parents were no longer together and once she found out the truth, a family feud broke out between the Angels and the Wetherlys.

Monica’s grandfather Luke Angel Blade threatened to kill Lucy because he believed it was her fault Byron broke up with his daughter. Angie, on the other hand, knew this was going to happen. She knew one or both of her children would not approve of the fact that their parents were no longer together as every married couple should. The feud did not last long and before anyone attempted to make their first violent move towards each other, Byron’s brother Jared stepped into the scene and explained the reason why Monica felt like her family wasn’t as functional as she wanted it to be. She was still growing up and still learning to figure out what went wrong and because of the bad choice she made that caused the feud to happen, she felt hurt and betrayed and wanted to make things right. The Wetherlys apologized to Monica for their outbursts, threats of violence and name-calling and in return, Monica forgave each and every one of them.

Unbeknownst to Katherine, Monica left Pine Ridge because she felt as though she doesn’t deserve to be loved by her family and relatives after all the family drama she put them through. Katherine wished Monica could stay and make her feel welcome at home, but at the same time, she understood her reasoning and let her go, promising herself that she’ll come and visit her if she finds the time to do so.
